Growing up in Hamburg, Astrid and her brothers learned to play music in the church, singing gospel hymns together and listening to country music on the radio. After moving to Calgary as a teenager, she cut her teeth as a singer and bass player over the course of the next decade in the country and R&B scene. Co-written with Bob and Steven Foster, "Shadows" is her songwriting and bandleading debut. ... more
